If all you libs out there think President Obama has been letting you down on yet another promise, be not troubled!

President Obama, back in the day, promised to create (crater-save wasn't used in this case) 5 million green jobs though gov't investment. A few weeks ago, the administration is claiming that the stimulus created 1 to 2.1 million jobs. Wow, they must have some reliable numbers here.

Let's not get bogged down about how we're spending $140,000 on a bunch of $34,000 a year jobs, or how it magically went from $248,000 spent on a job saved just last October.(Curious?) President Obama has really fallen short of his goal of five million green jobs.

I present to you that President Obama has created about 4 million green jobs and the number is growing. Let me ask you, how many more people are claiming unemployment since President Obama has taken office. They aren't commuting to work anymore and generating that deadly carbon dioxide with their car or while they're working for the evil corporations. They're being paid by the gov't to stay home and not pollute.

So, I just watched the video in the last post for the first time since I posted it. It's a hell of a lot more relevant now than it was two years ago. Let's go ahead and check out a couple of things.

I don't have a lot of time right now, so I'll go into more detail with this later. Everybody remembers the Dixie Chicks, right? I mean, they haven't already completely disappeared, have they? Well, they went overseas and their lead singer said that she was ashamed that the President of the United States was from Texas. They had a HUGE backlash from their OWN FAN BASE. This was something that was not pushed by the republican party. Yeah, you had some people who call themselves republicans who talked about how horrible they were for doing such a thing, but it was mainly their customers who were disgusted at what was said.

Here was President Bush's actual response in an interview with Tom Brokaw on April 24, 2003:

“The Dixie Chicks are free to speak their mind. They can say what they want to say ... they shouldn't have their feelings hurt just because some people don't want to buy their records when they speak out ... Freedom is a two-way street ... I don't really care what the Dixie Chicks said. I want to do what I think is right for the American people, and if some singers or Hollywood stars feel like speaking out, that's fine. That's the great thing about America. It stands in stark contrast to Iraq ..."

Now, we have a different controversy. Seems A LOT OF PEOPLE, not just three country music singers along with every non-funny comedian and Hollywood wash-out, have been complaining about Obamacare.

Here is our Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, with no class attacking private citizens because they disagree with her:

"However, it is now evident that an ugly campaign is underway not merely to misrepresent the health insurance reform legislation, but to disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress and constituents from conducting a civil dialogue. Now, she knew these people weren't carrying swastikas as a party affiliation thing, they were saying Obamacare seems very similar to Nazi care.

Also, the "Oh it's so horrible we can't have a civil debate," thing is now very old and tired. If they wanted to have a civil debate on this issue, they would have presented the bill and said, "OK, let's debate it and figure out what we're going to do." Instead, we have a bill over twelve thousand pages that they wanted to vote on in forty eight hours without any discussion or EVEN GIVING PEOPLE A CHANCE TO READ THE BILL!

Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) said this:

“If we fail to do it now,” he said, “we’ll lose some of the steam that we have and the sense of urgency.”

President Obama said this:

"I’m rushed because I get letters every day from families that are being clobbered by health care costs and they ask me, “Can you help?” So I’ve got a middle-aged couple that will write me, and they say, “Our daughter just found out she’s got leukemia, and if I don’t, uh, do something soon, we just… Either going to go bankrupt or, we’re not going to be able to get our daughter the care."

He also said this:

"We did give them a deadline, and sort of we missed that deadline. But that's OK," Obama said. "We don't want to just do it quickly, we want to do it right."

And this:

“I don’t want a delay just because of politics,’’ he told a crowd on July 23rd.

Henry Waxman said this:

Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) has threatened to bypass his own committee and move a sweeping health care bill to the House floor if conservative Democrats in the Blue Dog Coalition don't agree to back the package.

Oh yeah, and in November of 2004, Obama said this when talking about the whole process of legislation:

"-When you rush these budgets that are a foot high and nobody has any idea what’s in them and nobody’s read ‘em....-Yeah. And it gets rushed through without any clear deliberation or debate, then these kinds of things happen, and I think that this is in some ways what happened to the Patriot Act. I mean, you remember there was no real debate about that, it was so quick after 9/11 that it was introduced — that people felt very intimidated by the administration."

I feel much more intimidated by this than I ever was by the Patriot Act. Anyone else?

Why is this man given any type of credit about ANYTHING! He was one of the most worthless presidents in this great country's history. In some people's interpretation, my own included, Jimmy Carter started all the problems that we have in the middle-east right now. That's more than likely the reason he's attacking Israel. He doesn't want his own Iran debacle to be passed around again and ruin his legacy, so he is tranferring blame.

Some more. This is with Tim Russert when asked about the Jewish lobby.

Russert: "There's no doubt there's a stronger adversion to criticizing Israel in this country. I wouldn't say it's all because of intimidation, but that's one factor."

Carter: "It's almost completely unacceptable in this country for any public official to criticize the policies of Israel, even if they are horribly abusive against the Palestinians. (Unintelligible). The Jewish lobby may be part of it."

Go back to building houses or pickin peanuts, Carter. Hopefully, the United States won't stand for such anti-semetism or racism of any sort. But he will probably be forgiven. Well, he already has. Not many media outlets are even taking issue with the facts of his book, just the "hard hitting issues that people don't want to talk about".

Iraq Study Group: "Unity More Important Than Victory"

Just wanted to bring up some points on this. They have already been touched on by others, but I really want to repeat them because it's entertaining.

All elements of American power. This is what I love about these appointed commissions. They're supposed to help the problem by coming up with complicated solutions us simpletons wouldn't be able to figure out on our own because they are smarter than us. Then what do they do? They state something and don't have to have any explaination or actual plan. They just have to say "All elements of American power." The people writing this don't even understand what that means. More quotes to prove my point.

Quote from the same page, next section, talking about Iran and Syria helping us out:

Now, anyone with a brain cell in their skull knows that a stable Iraq is NOT in Iran or Syria's interest. The opposite is true. Why would they be funding rogue militias and Islamic militants and terrorists if they were interested in a unified Iraq. They don't want a unified Iraq. THEY WANT IRAQ!

The funniest part of this story is how he doesn't EVER defend his book by saying it states facts. The facts are what are called into question, along with proper use of maps and citing sources. If you read the article, it clearly shows what "President" Carter has made clear over the last 15 to 20 years:

Also, over 3 million foreigners who snuck in illegally now live in CA, and that's with just ONE BORDER! Also, there are about 15,000 convicted alien felons incarcerated in our penal system, costing about $500 million a year.

We need to pull out of California, America! Let the Californians deal with their own problems! Let us hand control over to them. Or at LEAST give them a deadline for withdrawl.

Tell me, in your expert opinion, what's the difference between "free fall speed" and normal building collapse speed? I always heard that if you dropped a bowling ball and a paperclip at the same time, they'd both fall at the same rate. Elementary physics, really. You might look it up before you make an ass of yourself again. The steel didn't all melt, retard. Some of the support structures could no longer bear the weight and the building collapsed. You don't have to melt all the steel in a building to make it fall down, idiot.

Not exactly a smoking gun yet. Anybody with half a brain knows that race relations are somewhat tense in this country. Let us read on:

Images of seas of black faces begging for help that took days to arrive, and stories of sheriffs from adjacent white suburbs turning desperate evacuees away at gunpoint as they tried to flee New Orleans, horrified the nation.

But for many who grew up in a city that had hosted the slave trade and clung to segregation, the initial shock was transformed into fury that their deepest fears and suspicions were true: the government does not care about black people.

Whoa. Now wait just a damn minute. Sure, the systemic racism of Louisiana politics is well known and documented. But she's not talking about the government of Louisiana. She's just indicting "the government." Imagine what Mira Oberman's editors would have said if she wrote "Louisiana's Democratic Governor, Kathleen Blanco doesn't care about black people." The article goes on to outline the dismal conditions of New Orleans and the bungling of the reconstruction, but at no point does it mention the party affiliation of the governor or mayor presiding over the situation. Had they been republicans, we'd be reminded of it over and over again.

What Mahmoud the grinning jackass doesn't seem to realize is that Israel has the most powerful military in the middle east. Some camel humpers with rockets killing a handfew of people here and there hardly matches the military might of the Israelis. I predict that this will continue to be a one-sided conflict until Lebanon and Hezbollah either give in to Israel's demands, or quite frankly die. And I have no sympathy for the Lebanese government, because they got themselves into this mess.

You know, I hardly want to bring any attention to website I'm about to mention just because I think it's some of the most ridiculous drivel I've ever seen.

I signed up for a myspace account just so I could keep in contact with some of my friends around the country. I found this political group as one of the forums on this site:

9/11 Truth

I read most of the articles that were feature on this site. Now, I could understand most of the points they make if I was thinking with the logic of an eight year old.

These people are throwing around so many half-truths and theories they are calling proof that the current administation planned and carried out the 9/11 attacks that most of the people who read or call themselves members of this group can't even follow it. They probably say to themselves, "Well, if it's that complicated, it MUST be true!" They even site the wrong information on steel, one of the biggest arguements for their view. Also, if they looked at the engineering of this particular building, they could easily see the problems with their points. One fellow points out:

Now, I invite ANYONE to just go ahead, get on a search engine, and find what the melting point of steel is because 2750 is the melting point for iron, steel is more around 2500, depending on how much iron is involved in making this fine alloy, and if jet fuel burns NORMALLY at 800 to 1500 F (a HUGE variance in tempurature anyway), what would the tempurature of an explosion of 10,000 gallons of jet fuel get up to?

Next is one of "their" responses:

"Steel is an excellent conductor of heat, so when you apply heat to a steel structure the heat spreads quickly. So the heat from the fires would have spread through the entire steel structure of each tower. The Twin Towers contained 200,000 tons of steel. Are we expected to believe that the fires from two loads of jet fuel provided sufficient heat to raise 200,000 tons of steel to the point where it became critically weak?"

So what these treasonous liars are saying here is that since heat spreads through steel quickly, it speads through all steel that is touching or connected in any way and must spread evenly throughout before the warping of such steel starts. Quite a reach, my dim-witted friends. Also, they state that no other steel supported building has ever fallen down because of a fire. This wasn't a fire, this was an EXPLOSION that took out the fireproofing with the blast. Smoldering fires themselves cannot do this, thus cannot be compaired fully to this situation.

Another quote, and I was laughing so HARD by the end of this.

I'm going to have to tell this to the other guys at the "Food Not Bombs" meeting! They ain't gonna believe this!" Take another hit off the pipe and keep living in your own world, you jackasses, and stop messing with mine!

These people go on to compare President Bush with Hitler in many ways. They show their agenda through the entire page, but under the guise of "Wanting only the truth". They already have their truth. They say President Bush did it. This is their religion that this aethist idiot has drawn people into. Oh oh, one more quote and I'll be done. This is an example of their pursuit of the "Truth". I was reading through a few of the link texts they had published on their site and this message came up in part of it.

I could get a TIME MACHINE, take them back to 9/11, and show them FIRST HAND that terrorists blew up the WTC, they'd fall to the ground, kicking and flailing their arms, screaming, "NO! BUSH DID IT! BUSH DID IT! NO WMDS!!!!!" They call us ignorant and stupid for having the wool pulled over OUR eyes. They are condescending assholes who have no knowledge of the past 50 years of international politics, no knowledge of American politics in the past or present, and no knowledge of how to use deductive reasoning to come to conclusions. Final thing, I swear. This one's really good. Ok, here's a picture showing the impact site on the Pentagon where flight 77 hit. This was taken on Sept. 14th, 2001.

Now, I have no idea what the date was when this picture was taken or what the sudden color distortion is (it certainly is NOT smoke), but I can easily guess this picture was changed in multiple ways. I mean, LOOK AT IT! They must think we're complete morons. (Or at least the 15,000 people who are members of this group)

Also, if you go to the website here you can also see a picture where they superimposed a picture of the supposed plane, and it's point is to debunk the hole in the Pentagon. They couldn't even keep the line straight with the fuselage. HILARIOUS!

If anyone is truely concerned about knowing what happened that day, it's all right here and not that hard to understand. This was probably the longest post I've ever had on here, but I didn't even scratch the surface with these guys. What bad things would come from VoIP? I know phone companies would either lower the price of their service or make it better for the consumer. Phone companies have a nice track record of abusing their customers because they've never had anyone else to go to. Now that VoIP is out there, these guys are really starting to worry about their future.

4.5 million more Americans are working today than in May of 2003, before the Bush tax cuts reports The Journal.

The economy has generated $750 billion in new personal income in the past 17 months, according to The Wall Street Journal.

3.5 to 4.0 percent rate of growth in 2005, twice as much as Europe even with gas prices, war, Federal Reserve interest rate increases, and hurricane Katrina.

Economic growth in the third quarter was 4.1 percent. That is the 10th consecutive quarter with growth over 3 percent. Not in the past 30 years have we done better.

The DOW is holding at about 11,000, nearing its all-time high of 11,750 set on Jan. 14 2000.

GOVERNMENT REVENUES GROW! The deficit decreased by $96 billion from 2004 to 2005 and the 2005 deficit was just at 2.6 percent of the Gross Domestic Product, compared to 5.1 percent in '85 according to The Chicago-Sun Times.

The US Dollar is up 10 percent versus the Euro in the past eight months.

2005 American household net worth is at $51 trillion according to the Federal Reserve. That looks like it's doubled from '95.

The Labor Department reports that in 2001 - 2005, we saw the best rate of labor productivity over any 4-year period since they started measuring it.

HAHAHA! Well, I guess we seem to be right so far, as usual. Other media orgs are publishing some of these statistics as well, but each will say that the DOW isn't an accurate portrayal of the economy (which it is), or that just because we're doing well now doesn't mean we will in the future (yeah, if we elect more dems in office), or that the tax cut just hasn't destroyed America yet (which it never will).

Bush was Right to Reject Kyoto Treaty

Ha! According to Forbes Magazine, Bush shouldn't feel so bad about all the criticism for not signing the Kyoto Treaty. I found this story on newsmax. Apparently, the Kyoto treaty seemed like a good idea at the time, but now that the time has come to cut emissions, the awful truth is sinking in.... In order to cut emissions, you must cut growth!

Even Britain’s Tony Blair, a supporter of the protocol, seemed to admit defeat for the treaty when in a recent speech at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York, he conceded: "No country is going to cut growth” – which is the only known way to cut emissions, according to Forbes.

Oh, but that's not even the best part! It seems that while the European nations were too busy complaining about us not signing the treaty, they were'nt paying attention to their own emissions.

Ironically, even western Europe is not reducing emissions. According to the protocol, western European nations must reduce their emissions to levels 8 percent lower than those of 1990. But in the years since the treaty was negotiated, carbon dioxide levels increased by 7 percent in France, 11 percent in Italy and 29 percent in Spain. Overall, the increase for western Europe was 5.4 percent.

"After many years of European chatter about the monstrous evil perpetrated by George W. Bush in rejecting Kyoto,” Forbes concludes, "it is of possible interest that the increase in carbon emissions in the U.S. during those years was slightly lower (4.7 percent).”

Do I still get to be Chauncy? Check out this story from the Kansas City Star. I originally found it on Yahoo but Yahoo can eat shit. Funny how the headline doesn't mention any party affiliation. It all becomes clear in the first paragraph:

WASHINGTON - President Bush is hearing from the Senate on Iraq. Forty Democrats and one independent have signed a letter urging him to be more frank with Iraqis and the American public.

So it's safe to assume this is just politically motivated. Now the democrats are pretending to represent the very same people who will be doomed to annihilation if the dems get what they want: an early withdrawal.

The letter says the administration needs to present "a plan that identifies the remaining political, economic, and military benchmarks that must be met and a reasonable schedule to achieve them."

How many times do we have to say it before you fucking retards get it? We'll be done when the Iraqis can sufficiently take care of themselves! In light of the daily reports of violence and death, it seems that pulling out now would be a bit premature, don't ya think? And this shit about a reasonable schedule! It's fucking ridiculous. It will be done when it's done! If we don't meet some deadline, are you going to want to just give up? We're sorry Iraq. This is taking too long, so we're gonna hand you over to the Ba'athists and the terrorists. This reminds me of a child nagging his parents. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" Demystifying the Cult of 7G

I suppose you're wondering what the hell all this cult of 7G stuff means. I have thus far made no attempt at explaining it. I assure you, we are no cult in the strictest sense of the word. It all goes back to 1997, when yours truly was a lowly Burger King employee. I worked at the same store as my older brother and several of his friends. In the back of the store, next to where we stacked up the fry baskets, was a little nook that we employees would sneak into to hide from our supervisors and eat our ill-gotten hershey's chocolate pies (working around all that food while hungry was torture most foul!). In that little fortress of solitude, was an apparent alter to some strange deity named 7G. Someone had taken a 7 and a G from our sign and taped them to the wall. So far this year some 50 young men -- most of them black -- have been shot dead in Toronto

But I thought you solved the gun violence problem with the national gun registry. Oh wait. That was just so you'd know who had firearms so you could ban them, right? Too bad hardly anybody bothered to register! So the solution must be to pass some more laws that nobody's going to obey, right?

Some government officials blame the problem in part on smuggling of handguns from neighboring United States.

So by their own admission, banning guns won't solve the problem? Funny how banning something with laws never seems to make the problem go away, does it? My only question is this: have the proponents of gun bans ever considered studying the cases of other countries that have tried the same thing? You know, just to measure whether your proposed legislation will have the desired effect?

Ha ha ha ha! It's very rare that I smile while reading about the UN. Apparently, Kofi Annan has some strong words for Syria. If they don't withdraw their troops from Lebanon by April, then the Security Council MIGHT take actions against them. Pardon me a moment while I laugh myself into a hernia. Here are the words straight from the jackass's mouth. Now let's see. What color would best exemplify Kofi Annan? How about yellow? That's a good color for a simpering coward!

"If it's partial withdrawal, I will have to report. If it's total withdrawal, I will have to report," Mr Annan is quoted as saying in the interview to be broadcast on Friday.

"But of course, if they [Syria] do not perform, the council may wish to take additional measures," he adds.

I'm sorry I haven't really been posting lately. I feel as though I have been remiss. I think my interest in matters political waxes and wanes from time to time. Lately there just hasn't been much in the news to really grab my attention. We're still at war. Bush is trying to get a new supreme court justice confirmed. Hopefully, he'll succeed, in spite of the Democrats' bullshit. I guess the Republicans cut a bunch of spending from medicaid. More importantly, the Colts just stomped the piss out of the Patriots on their own turf! Now there's a cause for celebration! I must admit, I was a little shocked by Doug Flutie's fourth quarter antics. He intentionally ran into one of the Colts' players, I can't remember whom, and tried to play it up like the guy attacked him. This didn't make it into the news anywhere, probably out of embarrassment for Doug Flutie. I guess he was desperate to turn things around in any way he could. Pathetic. Even more pathetic, was when Belichick threw his red flag, apparently in frustration, and then had to play it off like he was contesting the Colts' last touch down rather than face a penalty for delaying the game. Pretty sad. It was a beautiful game. The Colts' defence really dominated the Pats through most of the game, and really set the pace. I'm not saying the Pats played poorly. They're one of the best teams in the NFL and had some impressive fourth down conversions. They were just outplayed by the best team in the NFL. I've never seen Tom Brady get shaken up like he did on Monday. At least not while playing the Colts in Massachusetts.

Chauncy Biggins Witnesses Felony

What a day! I was on my way to handle a bill with a collection agency (ironic, since I work in collections: I'll deal with them in good time-they'll wish they'd never heard of me) when I witnessed a serious crime. I was riding in the car with my dear old mum. (I know what you're all thinking. I have a car, I'm married, and I've got my own place damn it! I just happened to be with my mother today!) We came to a stop at the intersection of Main and High Street in Downtown Muncie, right next to the bus station. There was a man crossing on the crosswalk, exchanging words with a guy in a red, older model suv. The man on foot reached the curb, turned around and said something, pointing off to the south as if to give directions. I didn't hear him, but according to the other witnesses, the man said, "Why don't you get out of the car and say that?" Then the man in the car, sharply turned his wheels to the left and hit the accelerator, going over the curb and hitting the man with his left front fender. I heard the man's leg snap, and he rolled over the hood of the car, falling to the ground. The driver sped away. All the motorists at the intersection, including myself, jumped out of the car and ran to try to get the license plate number. One of the guys made out half of it. The victim, while failing to get up, said it didn't matter. He knew the guy. The police were there inside a minute, followed soon after by the ambulance. They took statements from all of us, and we each wrote a formal statement to include in the police report. The interesting thing is, none of the other witnesses could agree on what kind of car it was that hit him. My mother saw a white pickup truck. Another guy saw a red suburban. Another man said it was a silver GMC Jimmy. It's a good thing that guy knew who hit him, otherwise, they would never be able to catch him. I guess it shows how unreliable memory can be, especially in such extreme circumstances. I certainly hope the man is okay. And I hope the perp gets his ass nailed to the wall. I mean jesus, the guy did it in broad daylight, in front of dozens of people! If I find out any more about it, I'll give an update.

Amusing. I figured out what happened to Watchblog. They simply ran out of money. I did a search on them and found this dropcash page where they were begging for donations to keep their site up. Now I'll admit, my blog is hosted by Blogger, which is to the world of internet publishing what velveeta is to the world of cheese. But I still can't help but indulge in a little schadenfreude over the fact that they have so far, collected zilch. I guess nobody cares about your little "public service website." I guess if you want to go there and mess with them, you have to donate some money so they can get their site running again. Ha!

American Jurors Too Stupid to Convict Criminals!

It seems jurors these days are watching too much television. The "CSI Effect" is making it hard for prosecutors to convince juries, even in white-collar trials, without sophisticated forensic evidence, like they've seen on the popular television drama. Now this is pretty absurd. It's not like an accountant embezzling money is going to leave a body, or blood and semen samples for investigators to run through their various electronic doo-hickeys! Apparently the "CSI Effect" hurt a securites fraud case in Alabama against HealthSouth founder Richard Scrushy.

Alice Martin, the State Prosecutor for the Northern District of Alabama said,
"...Jurors in post-verdict interviews said "we needed a fingerprint on one of the documents or we needed him [Mr Scrushy] to say the word 'fraud' on the audiotape" that was secretly recorded by a former HealthSouth finance chief.

"They said, 'they always do fingerprints on TV'," Ms Martin said.

Now the one thing about the post verdict interview that I really take issue with, is the idea that he had to say the word 'fraud' on tape. Come on, people! How often will a person committing fraud actually say the word fraud while he's committing the crime? I can see it now.

New Dispatch from Michael Yon

If you haven't heard of him, or read his work, I would highly recommend that you check him out. I've had a link to his site up for a while, and I've been an avid reader for several months. Michael Yon is a private journalist, operating out of his own pocket, who has been travelling with the 1st Battallion, 24th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Brigade 25th Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), or Deuce Four, if you're into the whole brevity thing. And I must say, it's some of the finest journalism I've seen coming out of this whole war. It's not political. Being a former Ranger himself, it's obvious that Michael is loyal to the men of Deuce Four, but he really does give an unflinching, real view of the way things are going in Mosul. In one incident, he actually picked up a rifle and tried to save an injured soldier! Lt. Colonel Erik Kurilla (a fucking hero, and a man's man if ever there was one) was shot several times right in front of him. The two Rangers in front of him froze, as if Superman had been gunned down right in front of them. So he picked up a rifle, and started shooting. He hit a propane tank and nearly killed everybody. He was, of course, reprimanded. They told him if he ever did that again, he'd be going home. But it just shows how deeply "embedded" Michael Yon is. Truly a must read for anyone interested in getting the real story.

I will admit, the managing Editor of Watchblog had me a little nervous. I'm relatively new to this whole blogging thing, and this took me off guard. And the day that I found out, I had been having a pretty bad day. Some bullshit collection agency called Ashwood Financial was calling up my mother and threatening to sue me (which is a violation of my privacy and federal statutes) over some bullshit from five years ago. Don't worry. I'll deal with them. I work in the industry and I know the law. They don't know who they're fucking with. But nonetheless, it was disquieting. On top of that, I'm getting married next month in Hawaii. I booked the whole package through Expedia, and about a month ago, I found out that ATA had cancelled the flight. I called Expedia. They called ATA, and ATA assured them that they would re-accommodate us, and that they would call back in two weeks. Once the two weeks were up, I called them back. They assured me that they were working on it, and they would call back in another two weeks. Two more weeks went by. I called them back, and they told me that it wasn't their problem, and I had to take it up with Expedia. I went ballistic. So I called Expedia, and explained the situation. The woman assured me that we would solve the issue, while I was on the phone. She said she needed to put me on hold while she called Northwest. So I sat on hold for 30 minutes. Periodically, she would come back to thank me for holding. Finally, I asked if I could put her on hold, as I had been on the phone for 2 hours and had to go to the bathroom. When I came back, the line was dead. I called back, got a different receptionist, and she said that according to her notes, they were issuing a full refund. I explained that we are getting married on the 10th, and I don't want a damn refund! I want to get down there! She explained that there was no legal way that they could get me another flight. Did you get that? This is a fucking travel agency! I told her fine! Just refund the tickets, and I'll swim if I have to! While I was on hold this time, I decided to check my email. That's when I got the email from the managing editor of watchblog. So it was just the icing on the cake. I was so emotionally exhausted, I nearly broke down and wept, right there at my desk. As for Expedia, I called back later in the evening and got it all straightened out. It turned out that the first two customer service representatives simply didn't want to help me. I guess they were too busy doing their nails, or something else much more important than their job. They've refunded the full ticket price, plus an extra $140, since it's going to be more expensive to book a flight so close to the date. Here's an update on the situation with me and Watchblog. I sent their editor two emails. The first, I no longer have a transcript. Basically, I told the editor to go fuck himself, and that I was going to use my blog to tear him down. Idle threats, really when you consider I have like maybe 3 readers. But I digress. I was angry. I felt that I was unjustly banned. I sent a second email, which I have the transcript for, and they replied, then I replied. Here they are in order of last to first:

What have I done that's against the law besides threatening to make angry posts against you on our blog and insult you? I know your kind as well. Juvenile, eh. I have seen multiple cases where you have selectively enforced your policy. It seems to me that your goal is to create an echo chamber where only one set of views gets put forward. I'm not sure what you got from my email that constitutes as illegal, unless telling you to go fuck yourself is illegal. I had no idea! And to suggest it's illegal to criticize you on my weblog, and insult your weblog, and to encourage others to do the same is pathetic! I'm going to post your reply on my weblog. That is the "flaming" I had in mind. At no time did I threaten some type of denial of service attack, or anything like that. That's not my style, and frankly I wouldn't know where to begin. It seems to me that if you have to run to the feds every time you get criticized, then perhaps you really are hiding something. Hmmmm? And various aliases? All I ever did was log onto a different computer and post comments. I never tried to claim I was someone else. I admitted who I was, gave my full name, and my email address. I haven't done anything illegal! And if I have, I'd like you to forward me the section in the criminal code that shows such. I'm quite interested!

I've been periodically checking the news on television for the past few days. What do I see on every network? The same footage of the same malcontents getting interviewed by the same reporters. Over and over again. A man standing there, holding a baby saying, "No food, no water, no help!" People chanting, "Send help, send help, send help!" I'm left with a few questions and a few conclusions. First of all, the media are a bunch of opportunistic vultures. It's obvious what they're trying to do. They don't give a damn about these people. They just see an opportunity to use this against the president, by suggesting the fed "dropped the ball." Well, what the hell did the state of Louisiana do about it? Should the federal government be expected to do everything? They know they live in a bowl surrounded by water. Why didn't they start working on this problem years ago? Now is not the time for the blame game. Now is the time for action. Which is why other states are now mobilizing their national guard units to assist. Here in Muncie, our National Guard unit is preparing to go down and assist. I know that there are several other units from all over the country heading down. Our local Red Cross has already reported two Louisiana families that have checked in for assistance. All the way up here in Muncie, Indiana! I know it must be the same in other parts of the country! And that's not the only help we're sending. We've got twelve Delaware County sheriff's deputies on their way already, along with volunteers from our local red cross and Indiana Michigan power employees to assist with getting the power back on.
The people who are still there, mostly because the state officials didn't evacuate them all as they should have, should be patient, and do what they can for now until help gets to them! In this modern fast food culture, everybody wants it now, now, NOW!! Well, I sympathize with those people, and I understand what they're going through is horrendous. I'd be screaming bloody murder if I had to go through that as well. I'd be pretty salty. But my perspective would be biased by my emotional involvement. The drowning man thinks the rescue came late, no matter how soon it was. My point is, we're doing what we can. And I understand that people are upset. But the media is using this as political ammunition. They're doing everything they can to say this is Bush's fault. And I wonder, since I've been seeing the same footage, of the same complaining people, for the last two days, if those same people they keep showing have already been evacuated. Or perhaps they were some of the same folks that were looting, and are now angry that they don't have anywhere to stash their new microwaves and televisions. Perhaps I'm being too cynical. But one thing is certain. Those damned news reporters aren't helping anything. All they're doing is trying to profit off of people's misery! All these reporters they've sent down. What are they really doing to help? They've got helicopters. They've got satellites. They could be doing something besides sticking cameras in people's faces! Why don't they start moving people out with their helicopters and news vans? Why don't they help bring food and water? Would that violate their journalistic ethics and neutrality?

The press, and the left love to say that there was no WMD in Iraq. The following is a tally of all of our findings since we invaded, that have been ingnored by our press. And thanks to our mostly inept president, they are almost completely unbeknownst to most people. Here's a list I lifted from a newsmax story. And for all you libs who would impugn Newsmax's credibility, I have listed alternate sources for each key piece of evidence at the bottom. So there!

Among the WMD evidence discounted by the press [and almost never noted by the Bush administration]:

500 tons of yellow cake uranium stored at Saddam's al Tuwaitha nuclear weapons development facility, which was secured by U.S. troops after the invasion.

1.8 tons of partially enriched uranium discovered at al Tuwaitha, which was removed by the U.S. Energy Department in June 2004 amidst warnings it could be used to produce a dirty bomb.

Centrifuge parts and blueprints hidden by one of Saddam's top nuclear scientists, who told U.S. interrogators that he was ordered to keep the bombmaking tools ready to resume production at a moment's notice.

Satellite photos from 2002 that showed new construction at al Tuwaitha, which had been largely destroyed in U.S. bombing raids during the first Gulf War and Operation Desert Fox.

The discovery of nearly two dozen artillery shells loaded with Sarin and mustard gas, which was reported in June 2004 by Iraq Survey Group chief Charles Duelfer.

Before we move on, I'd like to call to your attention to the Duelfer Report. For all you liberal moonbats, here's the Wikipedia description:

The Iraq Survey Group (ISG) was a fact-finding mission sent by the coalition after the 2003 Invasion of Iraq to find weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs developed by Iraq under the regime of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. It consisted of a 1,400-member team organized by The Pentagon and CIA to hunt for Saddam's suspected stockpiles of WMD, such as chemical and biological agents, and any supporting research programs and infrastructure that could be used to develop WMD. The search uncovered numerous banned weapons-related programs, but failed to find stockpiles, which were the main stated reason for United States President George W. Bush ordering the invasion of Iraq to remove Saddam.

Did you get that? They found that he had programs to develop wmd, but no stockpiles of weapons. Come on, people! If he actually had stockpiles of nukes or chemical weapons, then that would be a good reason NOT to invade! Why wait until they have the weapons, if you know they're trying to develop them? This is why Americans think Democrats are weak on national security! And damn it, Bush never said that there were huge stockpiles of these weapons. He just said that Saddam had failed to account for his wmd. Which could mean anything. It could mean that he failed to account for his programs. Intellectual capital means a lot in the world of technology. Just check out the story of Francis Cabot Lowell, if you disagree. He was the man who committed the famous act of industrial espionage responsible for ending England's monopoly on the textile industry. And he didn't do it by stealing one of their mills. He did it by touring their facilities, and learning how the mills work. In essence, he stole the technology. Destroying the weapons facilities, and indeed the weapons themselves, would be meaningless if you leave the technological ability to develop them, whether it's the blueprints for the devices, or the nuclear scientists with the knowledge of how they work.
Basically, the conclusion I draw is that Saddam wanted these weapons, and nothing could stop him from getting them. The inspections would only have delayed him. Why contain a problem, when you can eliminate it?

In Communism everyone is poor, but some (regular people) are more poor than others (communist leaders). If you limit the inflow of information into the country, people will perceive their life as normal and will not complain. So communist leaders will be able to maintain a nice feeling of power and superiority.

You're ignoring recent history. In Tawaitha, Saddam had 1.8 tons of enriched uranium. He was still funding the IAEC until we invaded in 2003. Just because he didn't have stockpiles of nukes doesn't mean he wasn't trying. Besides, he was also in violation of un resolutions and our ceasefire agreement. Weeks into the conflict, we found a stash of russian migs that violated UN resolutions. The only reason those resolutions were in place was to protect the kurds and shiites from genocide! Sure, he wasn't the biggest threat to us? But since when are you libs non-interventionist isolationists? Saddam had to go, and military action was the only way to do it! You also ignore the fact that the Iraqi government doesn't want us to leave yet, doesn't even want us to announce a date. Because the decent people of Iraq need us to stay until they're secure enough to go it alone. What you want is for us to leave now, allow the Ba'athists to take over, and kill hundreds of thousands of people, like the last Gulf War or like Vietnam and Cambodia. Then you liberals could chalk this up as another American failure and use it in your propaganda to win elections.

PETA Kills Helpless Animals

I was alerted to this story by a frontpage mag article here. I wasn't entirely surprised. Apparently, since PETA spends so much of it's budget on advertising and harassment campaigns against farmers and medical research facilities, it doesn't have enough money left over to care for animals. So a lot of these animals that PETA "rescues" end up getting euthanized and dumped. I've always suspected that PETA hurts more animals than it helps. If you've ever seen their literature, where they document the atrocious mutilations of animals supposedly done by hunters, then you know what I'm talking about. I was at a job fair at Ball State University where PETA had their own stall, passing out materials. They showed me this pamphlet of a fox that had been utterly mutilated. It looked like it had been mangled by farm equipment. The pelt was ruined. "What hunter would do this," I asked. It appeared to me that these PETA people most likely killed and butchered this fox specifically for the purposes of their propaganda, which I think is illegal. I always used to think PETA was insane because they care more about animals than people. Now, I'm beginning to think they're just plain insane.

This is what I like to hear! Iraqis want to stand up and fight for themselves! If the state can't protect me, then I'll protect me! You hear that, Sarah Brady? You hear that, Chuck Schumer? Sometimes, the state can't protect you. There are universal truths in this world, completely separate from politics, and laws, and any other artificial concept. These are the laws of nature. Each individual has the right, and responsibility to defend their own person. You could attempt to write it away with laws all you like, but when the blows are raining down on your head, you'll act out of self-preservation, the most powerful of human instincts. When the state can't adequately meet your protection needs, whether you live in Miami, Florida or war-torn Baghdad, you have a responsibility to meet it yourself. And this truth apparently isn't lost on the people of Iraq. It's too bad some people in this country just don't get it. I'd like to take Chuck Schumer and drop him off in a gang neighborhood in south central LA. The average police response time there is 45 minutes, if they arrive at all. Maybe then he'd understand.
Security can't be established from the top down. It must be from the bottom up. The people of Iraq are closer to the insurgents than the US or Iraqi governments. They're also closer to their own homes and neighborhoods. Perhaps citizen militias will be the answer we've been looking for.

Here's a story from Newsmax you won't here about in the mainstream press. Because it was already in the mainstream press back in May 2004. The following is an exerpt.

"The United States has informed an international agency that oversees nuclear materials that it intends to move hundreds of tons of uranium from a sealed repository south of Baghdad to a more secure place outside Iraq," the paper announced in a little-noticed May 2004 report.
"The repository, at Tuwaitha, a centerpiece of Saddam Hussein's nuclear weapons program until it was largely shut down after the first Persian Gulf war in 1991, holds more than 500 tons of uranium," the paper revealed, before insisting: "None of it [is] enriched enough to be used directly in a nuclear weapon."
Well, almost none.
The Times went on to report that amidst Saddam's yellowcake stockpile, U.S. weapons inspectors found "some 1.8 tons" that they "classified as low-enriched uranium."
The paper conceded that while Saddam's nearly 2 tons of partially enriched uranium was "a more potent form" of the nuclear fuel, it was "still not sufficient for a weapon."
Consulted about the low-enriched uranium discovery, however, Ivan Oelrich, a physicist at the Federation of American Scientists, told the Associated Press that if it was of the 3 percent to 5 percent level of enrichment common in fuel for commercial power reactors, the 1.8 tons could be used to produce enough highly enriched uranium to make a single nuclear bomb.

Ziad al-Khasawneh was resigned because he was ticked off that certain American members of Saddam's defense team (did you get that?) were trying to get him to tone down his criticism of America and the Iraqi government. I guess they felt it didn't help their case. Wooptie friggin' doo! I don't see much of a chance for Saddam to get off. The thing that got me about this story was the size of this guy's legal team. Here's an exerpt from the AP story.

Saddam's legal team includes 1,500 volunteers and at least 22 lead lawyers who come from several countries, including the United States, France, Jordan, Iraq and Libya.

Can you believe it? That's certainly more than the legal teams of O.J. and Jacko combined! Who are all these Americans defending him? And who's paying for this army of lawyers? Is Saddam paying for it with money he stole from Iraq? Or are we paying for it?

ACLU Says Bush Is Restricting Science

Just what purpose is the ACLU intended to serve? I found this story on Yahoo to be very illuminating. Now the ACLU, or American Commie Liberals Union, is charging that the Bush Administration is suppressing science.

The administration "has sought to impose growing restrictions on the free flow of scientific information, unreasonable barriers on the use of scientific materials and increased monitoring of and restrictions on foreign university students," the ACLU said.

Apparently, the ACLU doesn't understand why we should be concerned with foreigners getting access to classified materials. It's not like we're in a war with terrorists or anything! Now here's the part where they really show their true colors:

Al-Qaida Announces Iraqi Suicide Squad

Groups Unite Against Military Recruiters

A bunch of liberal parents at a school in Philadelphia are pissed off because their school gave their contact information to military recruiters. They think the military unfairly targets minority communities in what some consider a "defacto draft." Frankly, I find the whole idea rather absurd. They always bitch about how the military always sends the poor and the minorities. Well tell me something. If the military set up recruitment offices in Beverly Hills, do you think they'd get very many recruits? The military is going to target the demographics that yield the most recruits. They're going to go where they can get people to sign up. It's simple marketing, and recruiters don't care what color you are, or what your social status is. All they care about is getting you to sign. And why do these parents object to their children being presented with the option of military recruitment? They don't want them to hear from people with views that disagree with them? Are they trying to limit the military recruiters' freedom of speech?

I get so sick of hearing about Koran desecrations. What the hell is a Koran desecration? We're talking about a book! Apparently, people now consider flushing a book down a toilet to be torture. How the hell are we supposed to interrogate prisoners? We certainly can't use real torture like the taliban in Afghanistan or Saddam's brutal regime in Iraq. So what are we supposed to do if offending the prisoners' sensibilities is now to be considered torture? Beat them with fluffy pillows like Monty Python's version of the Spanish Inquisition? This is a war, and these people are the enemy. They need to be detained and the very fact that we're giving these people korans in the first place is a demonstration of our leniency, and our generosity. And the outrage in the arab world and in the American media is pretty ridiculous when you consider the desecrations committed by the supposed victims. What about the ancient buddha statues the taliban destroyed in 2001? Does that not count as a desecration? Or how about the desecration of jewish holy sites committed by palestinians? Many Scientists Admit to Misconduct

Here's an interesting story from the washington post. According to an anonymous survey taken by 3,247 scientists, 5% admitted to throwing out data that didn't agree with their intended result. 15% admitted to changing their results to satisfy their sponsors. 13.5% used research designs that they knew would not give accurate results. This certainly makes one wonder about the veracity of the global warning threat.

Dean Defends Criticism of Republican Party

Now this just cracks me up. Of course he's going to defend his comments. Of course he's going to criticize the GOP. He's the DNC Chairman! Oh, and this is what really gets me

It's funny how he's not being criticized for talking about social security, job opportunity, public schools, and defense. He's being criticized for calling the Republican Party,

"pretty much a white, Christian party."

He's not talking about any issues. He's doing the same thing the Dem's have been doing for the last 6 years. "Republicans are wrong. We are right. What are we right about? The republicans being wrong, of course!"

Think up something new, you dimwits! Maybe if you actually proposed some bills or did something to show what you're actually being paid for, more people might vote for you.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying the company of a barking moonbat liberal. My friend Keith recently got married and most of his friends came from out of town to attend the wedding. One of them, I don't wish to embarrass by naming, so I'll just call him Bob. Anyway, Bob brought his new girlfriend from Wisconsin to the wedding. After the wedding, several of the other guests and I met over at the home of a fellow I call Canadian-Dan(he hates the nick-name but I think it sounds cool). We were hanging out, watching a cheesey action movie, and drinking some beer. Bob's girlfriend began to regale us on all the ins and outs of working in a wisconsin sex shop. She told us story after story, each one rife with depravity and filth. I would include an anecdote, but you really don't want me to. Trust me. After listening to this for a while, the entire group fell kind of silent. Apparently, she felt this was the appropriate time to test the waters for a possible political conversation. "Man, we should start a war against Washington." Normally, that would be my cue to pounce, but I decided to humor her by taking her statement seriously, for Bob's sake. "If we did that," I reasoned, "China would probably see it as their opportunity to invade the west coast and liberate us from capitalism." To which she replied, "At least then, we'd probably have freedom of speech." Her comment struck me dumb. I was speechless. Canadian Dan snorted and said, "Those people don't have any freedom at all." She fell silent, with a sour look on her face as though she'd bitten into an onion. I'm sure she must have thought to herself that this was just another bunch of evil fascist neocons, attempting to obfuscate. Perhaps somebody should tell her about how China has blocked their citizens' access to blogger.com and all blogger weblogs with their national firewall. Or how China is now forcing all of it's nations' webmasters and bloggers to register with the government, so they can be held accountable for "subversion." That's freedom in the communist worker's paradise.

Prison would prove tough if Jackson convicted

Gee, do ya think? And the award for the year's most obvious news headline goes to Reuters for this speculative piece. I know exactly what will happen to Michael Jackson if he goes to prison. They won't put him in the general population, which is what he deserves. If they do, he won't last five minutes. Let's just say he'll have a whole new reason to grab his crotch and scream, "Hoooooooooo!"

Man with a chain saw that was apparently covered with blood was let into the U.S.

Now this really makes me feel safe. According to this AP story, the appearance of being a chainsaw wielding psychopath isn't enough to prevent a border crossing into this country. Gregory Despres was covered in blood. He had a home-made sword, brass knuckles, a knife, a hatchet, and a chainsaw covered in blood. But they let him cross the border into the US anyway. According to Bill Anthony, a spokesman for US Customs and Border Protection, they had to let him in because he was a naturalized citizen and wasn't wanted on for any crimes. "Being bizarre is not a reason to keep somebody out of this country or lock them up. ... We are governed by laws and regulations, and he did not violate any regulations."

The Heterosexual HIV Myth?

I don't really know what to make of this. According to a panel of experts, heterosexuals practicing vaginal intercourse are not at significant risk for HIV. Supposedly, it's almost exclusively transmitted by i.v. drug use and anal intercourse. HIV is transmitted when there isn't significant protection from transmission, like skin or vaginal tissue. Apparently the membranes in the colon allow for large molecules to enter the body, such as nutrients or HIV.
I don't know if it's true or not, but these guys present a pretty compelling argument.

White House, N.Y. Face Off Over 9/11 Funds

If the federal government sends you money to use for a specific purpose, then you'd damn well better use it for that purpose. Anybody who receives federal grants for any reason knows that. But the lawmakers in New York must think they're special. George Bush pledged to send $200 billion in federal aid to help New York recover after 9/11. That included $175 million for the state's worker's compensation program. Of that money, they've only spent about $48.4 million. Then there's the $25 million for out of state workers. They've spent less than a million on those claims. Apparently, their needs were greatly over-estimated. So now the Fed wants the extra money back. But these New York lawmakers want to hang on to the money to pay out claims for respiratory illnesses suffered by the police, firemen, and construction workers. Now I'm sure they have a valid need for that money, but you should ask congress to appropriate more spending for that purpose. They gave you the money to spend for a reason, and that's what you should have spent it on. If you didn't need it all for that purpose, send it back. You can't just hang on to money that's not yours until you work out a deal to keep it. We went through this same crap back in 2000 over the so-called budget surplus. It was actually a projected surplus over 10 years, meaning there never was a surplus, but I'm not here to split hairs. Anyway, rather than give it back in a tax cut, the Democrats wanted to spend it to solve the social security crisis, which according to them today, doesn't exist. But now I'm going off topic. The theme here is that Democrats don't understand how to keep the books. If you go over, you can't just take that money and use it on something else.
